Jamie Knight to be IGT’s chief studios officer from Jan 1, as Jean Venneman retires

Gaming technology business IGT says Jamie Knight (pictured) will assume the role of chief studios officer on January 1, 2027, with responsibility to “drive innovation in game mechanics and mathematical modelling” for the firm’s products, according to a Monday announcement. She succeeds Jean Venneman, who will retire on December 31 after more than 30 years in the gaming industry. Hector Fernandez, IGT chief executive, was cited as saying that Ms Knight’s “combination of creative instinct, studio leadership and focus on innovation in design and math will build on” the brand’s momentum developed under Ms Venneman, “and unlock new possibilities across our combined studio organisation”. The announcement said Ms Knight has two decades of experience working for the industry’s largest suppliers, with “deep expertise in translating creative vision into player-favourite content”. Ms Knight will ensure “clear priorities for studio teams, drive innovation in game mechanics and mathematical modelling, and create an environment where creative talent can do exceptional work,” IGT stated. The firm added: “Having begun her career as a creative, she understands the collaborative process required to transform original concepts into successful products, a perspective that will inform her leadership of studio operations.” Mr Fernandez also said Ms Venneman’s leadership had “created the foundation” for the company’s “next phase of growth”. “She brought together talented teams, strengthened how our studios operate and raised the bar for creative and operational excellence,” the CEO noted. “We are deeply grateful for everything she has contributed to our organisation and our industry.” The statement said that under Ms Venneman, the “world class” studio operation had grown to involve more than 1,200 employees, and had “created the operational and creative foundation that positions IGT and Everi for accelerated growth”. That was a reference to a US$6.3-billion transaction in 2025 that saw the legacy casino gaming part of the IGT brand link to gaming equipment provider Everi Holdings Inc under a new privately-held entity.
