The crypto-based prediction market is bringing on Jenson, whose resume includes CFO roles at Amazon, NBC, Delta Air Lines, Electronic Arts, and Nielsen, to oversee the organization’s financial operations and capital strategy. Thrilled to announce that Warren Jenson is joining Polymarket as our first CFO,” Polymarket founder and CEO Shayne Coplan wrote on X. “Warren was CFO of Amazon, where he worked directly with [Jeff] Bezos and leadership to pioneer the financial framework for modern marketplaces.” “A true legend. We’re grateful to have him and excited to learn from him,” Coplan said. While Jenson is Polymarket’s first CFO, Ed Lynch has served as CFO of Polymarket US since November 2025, when the platform returned stateside. Polymarket CFO Directive Jenson’s appointment comes as Polymarket seeks to scale its US exchange licensed by the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). Jenson will guide the company’s financial organization, set financial and fundraising strategy, and lead Polymarket’s long-range planning. Jenson said he’s ready for the task at hand. Polymarket created a massive new global market category. The opportunity ahead of us is enormous,” said Jenson. “I’m joining Shayne and the leadership team to put the capital strategy and operating discipline in place to move quickly at scale and continue to push the frontier of this industry.” In March 2026, Polymarket surpassed $10 billion in notional trading volume for the first time in a single month. The $10.6 billion in traded shares represented its total global volume. Trading volume in the first quarter of 2026 soared more than 90% from the previous quarter to approximately $26.2 billion. Polymarket US, which only launched late last year, reported about $700 million in March trades. Prediction Markets in Flux The direction of Polymarket and Polymarket US depends heavily on forthcoming legal outcomes. With numerous lawsuits across the country challenging whether the CFTC has the authority to regulate sports event trading, which critics say constitutes sports betting and violates state laws, it’s expected that the US Supreme Court will intervene. On Sept. 2, New Jersey formally petitioned the Court to determine if platforms like Polymarket can offer trading on sports. The odds of the Supreme Court agreeing to review sports prediction markets shortened after federal appeal courts issued varying opinions on whether prediction markets involving sporting events are closer to casinos or Wall Street. “We have a circuit split on exactly that question, and the Supreme Court will have to intervene,” said Robert Schwartz, a partner with Morgan Lewis in Washington, DC.
