A winner in the United Kingdom has stepped forward to claim their $1.34 million lottery prize (GBP 1 million) after three-and-a-half weeks of staying silent. The winner, a person from Thurrock, Essex, won the money during the EuroMillions October 13 draw. Roughly one in 10 people in the United Kingdom who win big money from the lottery reveal their identity. The win is estimated at about 20 years’ local salary in Thurrock, making it a particularly good payout for whoever may have won. This is hardly the largest win from a EuroMillions draw in the United Kingdom this year, however. In March, a player scooped a $243 million prize (GBP 181,073,415.70).
