TransAct announces debut of ‘EPIC TT+’ tabletop printer

Casino technology supplier TransAct Technologies Inc is launching what it says is a “next-generation” tabletop ticket-in, ticket-out (TITO) printer, the “EPIC TT+”. The product was designed to extend the company’s technology to transaction points beyond the slot-machine floor, the firm said in a Wednesday press release. The Nasdaq-listed company stated the EPIC TT+ was developed for use at casino cashier cages, player clubs, lounges, redemption areas and other locations, particularly in situations where “embedded printing is not practical”. The product is also intended as an upgrade route for customers using the company’s existing EPIC Edge TT printer, the firm added. “The EPIC TT+ helps casinos reduce disruptions, limit employee intervention and deliver a faster, smoother patron experience,” TransAct stated. “It also extends Epicentral connectivity to more transaction points, creating additional opportunities to engage players with relevant promotions throughout their visit,” it added. The new unit is said to have a faster processor and offers 300 dots-per-inch (dpi) print resolution. TransAct said the improved resolution was intended to produce clearer barcodes and ticket information, helping reduce rejected vouchers and the need for employee intervention. According to the announcement, the EPIC TT+ has capacity for 600 tickets and uses the company’s “TicketBurst” technology, under which each ticket is fully printed and separated before being presented to the customer. TransAct said the mechanism was designed to reduce “jams, maintenance and incomplete transactions”. The product also supports TransAct’s “ServerPort” and Epicentral technologies, enabling operators to connect tabletop transactions with the company’s player-engagement platform, per the update. John Dillon, chief executive of TransAct, said in prepared remarks: “The EPIC TT+ expands on the trusted performance of the EPIC Edge TT while bringing our latest EPIC technology to more transaction points across the casino.” He added: “It helps customers keep critical tabletop transactions moving reliably while creating more opportunities to connect those interactions with Epicentral and the broader player experience.” TransAct said the printer supported established cashier, player-club, lounge and redemption workflows, while also providing a platform for potential applications in selected table-game environments, including certain blackjack and poker-style games. The EPIC TT+ is to be offered via TransAct’s casino management system, original equipment manufacturer and gaming technology partners. TransAct said it would introduce the EPIC TT+ on September 29, during the Global Gaming Expo (G2E) in Las Vegas, Nevada, in the United States.
