The Parisian Macao, a casino resort operated by Sands China Ltd, will mark its 10th anniversary on Sunday (September 13), having welcomed more than 100 million visitors since opening in 2016, according to a company press release. The property opened in 2016 with approximately 3,000 rooms and suites. Sands China subsequently converted a number of standard rooms into larger suites, including a project – completed in 2019 – involving about 600 rooms that created approximately 300 suites. The Parisian Macao’s launch completed Sands China’s interconnected cluster of integrated resorts on Cotai at that time, the company said. The property now has more than 2,540 hotel rooms, about 62,000 square feet (5,760 sq. metres) of meeting, incentives, conferences and exhibitions (MICE) space, and the 1,200-seat Parisian Theatre. Wilfred Wong Ying Wai, executive vice-chairman of Sands China, said the property had helped expand Macau’s non-gaming tourism offering through its hospitality, MICE, retail, entertainment and family-oriented facilities. “Looking ahead, Sands China remains firmly committed to advancing non-gaming development, introducing world-class events and experiences, and transforming the vitality of tourism into lasting momentum for Macau’s economic diversification,” he said, quoted in Thursday’s press release. Anniversary activities include a property-wide experience inspired by French literary classic The Little Prince, a series of dining events involving seven world-renown celebrity chefs, and drone shows. The Parisian Macao’s retail area covers about 297,000 sq. feet, while the resort also offers family-oriented attractions and a range of dining facilities. The complex’s half-scale replica of the Eiffel Tower was constructed using more than 2,800 tonnes of steel and features 6,600 lights, according to Sands China.
