Sahara Las Vegas has embraced crypto, allowing players to use various tokens to fund their play at the main cage. This, however, is not exactly crypto betting, since all tokens are converted into US dollars before players can begin to bet. Crypto Payments Are Coming to the Strip Sahara Las Vegas announced that players at its main cage can now use Bitcoin, Ethereum, and Litecoin at its main cage to convert it into USD chips or slot tickets. As mentioned, this is not direct crypto betting, since all tokens are converted before any wagers can be placed. Regardless, this decision cements the property as the first Las Vegas Strip casino to provide its players with such flexibility. Despite that, this is not a completely revolutionary addition, since Circa Resort & Casino in downtown Las Vegas previously introduced a similar crypto scheme. The option for using crypto to fund gameplay at the Sahara leverages a partnership with BurraPay – the same crypto payments provider that powers Circa’s own crypto payments option. BurraPay’s system received official approval from the Nevada Gaming Control Board earlier this year, heralding a new age for payments in Las Vegas. The approval allows cryptocurrencies to become even more ingrained into the world of modern payments and is a welcome change for many gamblers. Players should keep in mind that BurraPay charges a 5% fee on deposits. In order to use crypto payments, users must be at least 21 years old and have an active Infinity Rewards account. Their IDs must also be verified before crypto deposits can be made. It should be noted that players can use crypto to fund play at Sahara Las Vegas’ casino and cannot use it for renting rooms, paying at restaurants, or buying other things. Sahara Wants to Provide Players with Modern, Seamless Experiences According to Sahara Las Vegas representatives, the addition of BurraPay’s crypto payments system seeks to provide visitors with additional flexibility. Craig Pleva, general manager at the property, explained that this also reflects Sahara Las Vegas’ continued evolution and commitment to offering a “modern, seamless experience” for its guests. Expanding our payment options to include cryptocurrency is a natural next step, giving our guests greater flexibility and convenience while embracing the innovation shaping the future of Las Vegas. Craig Pleva, general manager, Sahara Las Vegas BurraPay’s co-founder and chief technology officer, Luke Millanta, said that the Las Vegas Strip launch was the natural next step for his team, following the downtown launch with Circa earlier this year. Both the Sahara and BurraPay reiterated their commitment to offering crypto deposits in a compliant manner and to work hard to prevent financial fraud.
