S.Korea’s Inspire helping concertgoers with impaired hearing

Inspire Entertainment Resort, a complex with foreigner-only casino at Incheon in South Korea, says it has partnered with JYP Entertainment Corp and non-profit organisation HearCycle to support guests with impaired hearing that attend concerts at the resort. The initiative is part of Inspire’s environmental, social and governance (ESG) programme, “Sound Beyond Hearing”, according to a recent press release. For performances by JYP Entertainment artists at Inspire Arena, the casino resort will be providing a skybox seating area fitted with an Auracast-based assistive listening system, per the announcement. Auracast technology can transmit live-performance audio wirelessly to compatible hearing aids and cochlear implants, said the update. Inspire will also provide technical support for the installation and onsite operation of transmitters, it added. The setup has already been used for performances at Inspire Arena by artists including “2PM” and “Young K of DAY”6, and will be utilised at additional performances in the remainder of second-half 2026. Inspire said it would use feedback from participants, along with other information gathered from the project, to explore further accessibility improvements at the venue. “Inspire is committed to creating an environment where everyone can enjoy live performances and entertainment on equal terms,” said a spokesperson for the complex. “Through this project, we will build practical experience in improving venue accessibility and continue working to create a more inclusive environment” for audience members, the representative added.
