Mom of Three Abandons 4-Year-Old at Gas Station to Gamble in Oklahoma

A Missouri mother has been arrested after demonstrating neglect of her children on several occasions in the span of a very short time. First abandoning a four-year-old daughter at a truck stop in the middle of the night, and then proceeding to drive to a casino where she left her two young boys in the car outside, K.M.C. is in a lot of trouble. The case got even weirder when police caught the woman and took her to her two boys in the car, asking if she also had a daughter. The woman denied it and said that her only two children were the boys in the car. By that point, however, police were already aware of the missing mother who had left her daughter after the Love’s Travel Stop on East Highway 86 notified the authorities. C.’s car was identified as a Chevrolet Silverado by a witness. Police were quick to use surveillance footage to be able to identify the car, and the woman, as well as track the family. Authorities conducted interviews with witnesses and were able to locate the woman in Oklahoma, where the Wyandotte National Police Department assisted Missouri investigators and eventually took C. into custody. C., who drove to a casino in Wyandotte, Oklahoma, is accused of deliberately abandoning her daughter so she could gamble – and, in fact, had no intention of returning. She also transported her young children without the proper safety restraints, thus endangering them. All three children have since been placed in protective custody, whereas C. faces two counts of first-degree child endangerment, both of which are Class D felonies.
