The Mega Millions drawing has survived yet another drawing, allowing it to reach $244 million for the next one. While the Tuesday drawing did not have a jackpot win or any Match 5 winners, one player managed to snatch a $100,000 prize. A Lucky Player Won $100K from the Game The Tuesday Mega Millions drawing saw players compete for a $227 million prize with a cash option of $96.3 million. While the jackpot remained unconquered, a few players did manage to secure noteworthy prizes. For reference, the winning numbers drawn Tuesday, September 15, were 27, 36, 43, 57, and 58, plus the gold Mega Ball 16. While no one managed to match all six numbers required to win the jackpot, or the five white numbers required for a Match 5 prize, two players managed to match four white numbers plus the gold Mega Ball, netting them tier-three prizes. One of these players can now redeem a $20,000 payout (2x multiplier), while the other is in for a $100,000 payday (10x multiplier). Since the jackpot survived this drawing, it has continued to increase, reaching $244 million for the Friday one. If anyone manages to win the top prize from the Friday drawing, they would be able to either claim the annuity option for the full prize or the one-time payment of $103.5 million. This is notably the first time in this cycle that the lump sum option has exceeded the $100 million mark. The Past Few Drawings Awarded Several $100K Prizes Mega Millions has been experiencing a few quieter drawings without many Match 5 wins, although there have been a few $100,000 prizes landing here and there. The September 11 drawing, for example, had only two winners of tier-three prizes, one of which scooped up $20,000 and the other $30,000. The September 8 drawing, on the other hand, awarded eight tier-three prizes, including one prize of $100,000. On August 28, Mega Millions awarded not one, but two prizes of $3 million to players in the states of Missouri and Tennessee. In addition to that, the same drawing granted a $100,000 tier-three prize to one lucky player. In the meantime, the Powerball jackpot has also resisted players’ attempts to win it, allowing it to reach $271 million for today’s drawing. The drawing that took place earlier this week ended up dropping two Match 5 prizes.
