Massachusetts has had a strong run of big-prize lottery winners so far in 2026, with the state dishing out multiple million-plus rewards from across its portfolio of games. The lucky player, one Jose Valerio of Harwich, had pulled off an enviable feat, securing a $4-million payout from the Massachusetts State Lottery’s “100X” instant ticket game, becoming the latest person to have snatched a grand prize from the game. Huge Windfall from a Popular Instnat Ticket Game The lottery was happy to share the pertinent details about Valerio’s win, including the address of the venue which sold the lucky ticket – the Main Street Market in Harwich. The game will now result in a lump sum payout of $2.6 million before taxes, and the store itself will secure a $40,000 cut. Retailers in Massachusetts are eligible for a 1% bonus for selling a winning ticket, which the Lottery uses as a way to incentivize sales and support vendors. Valerio’s win marks the second $4 million grand prize claimed in the “100X” game since its release, with one more top prize of that size still unclaimed and up for grabs. Players hoping to try their luck can still find “100X” tickets at authorized retailers across the state. The lottery released few other details, but did pick Valerio’s mind on what he plans to do next. The player was decided and he said he would be looking for a new home first thing. This is not the only good lottery story coming out of the Bay State, however, with multiple other winners recorded over the last month. One Almasa Cajic of Lynn was able to secure a $2 million payout from the Powerball, winning the amount from the Powerball drawing on Wednesday, August 12. Jackpots in the Bay State Just Keep Dropping Interestingly, Cajic is also planning to buy herself a home with her new-found wealth. The Robinson News Convenience in Malden will also receive a $20,000 bonus for selling the ticket. Earlier in August, one Jakkrit Likhitpanyawat of Quincy ended up winning $1 million playing the “$2,000,000 50X Cashword” scratch ticket game, as confired by the lottery. The man naturally opted for the cash option, which amounts to $650,000 before taxes, and is a considerable financial incentive. The lottery did not reveal any details about what Likhitpanyawat’s immediate plans for the reward were. In 2025, the Massachusetts Lottery reported 661 lottery prizes worth $100,000 or more, and 64 winners who have won $1 million or more. If the pace of wins in 2026 holds, the Massachusetts Lottery may end up matching the 2025 results or even exceeding them.
