Marina Bay Sands charity festival helps raise record US$5.5mln

Singapore casino resort Marina Bay Sands says the 12th edition of its Sands for Singapore Charity Festival raised a “record” amount of more than SGD7 million (US$5.5 million) for local charitable causes. The 2026 edition, which concluded in late August, took the cumulative amount raised via the initiative – since its launch in 2013 – to more than SGD52 million, the venue’s promoter said in a press release. The funds raised this year will support charities respectively assisting people with disabilities, low-income families and other vulnerable groups, as well as young people and senior citizens. This year’s festival included a new month-long fundraising campaign called Dine for Good, involving 12 celebrity-chef and signature restaurants at Marina Bay Sands. It also featured Impact Match, an interactive digital game supporting students at Singapore’s NorthLight School. Other activities included the Good Bites Market, Giving Marketplace, live performances, the Community Chest Heartstrings Walk, and the Race to the Sky Vertical Marathon. Marina Bay Sands said its employees had also participated in five weeks of volunteering activities linked to the festival season. The promoter said its workforce had contributed nearly 145,000 volunteer hours since the property opened in 2010. Paul Town, chief operating officer at Marina Bay Sands, said the company was “deeply heartened by the generosity of the public”, as well as that of its employees and partners. “In addition to contributing to Singapore’s economic and tourism success, we are committed to helping strengthen the social fabric of our community through philanthropy, volunteerism and long-term partnerships,” he added. Marina Bay Sands is operated by a unit of United States-based casino group Las Vegas Sands Corp.
