Light & Wonder Parts Ways with the CEO of Its Social Casino Business, SciPlay

Gaming content powerhouse Light & Wonder announced that it is parting ways with the chief executive officer of its SciPlay social casino division. At the same time, the company appointed someone to temporarily take over the outgoing executive’s responsibilities. SciPlay’s CEO to Depart, Light & Wonder on the Lookout for a Successor In its announcement, Light & Wonder confirmed that Josh Wilson is preparing to step down as chief executive officer of the SciPlay social casino business, effective October 30, 2026. With Wilson’s term ending, Light & Wonder has initiated a search for someone to succeed him. The company noted that Wilson will remain in his role through October 30, ensuring a smooth transition of responsibilities. As the search for a suitable successor continues, Light & Wonder has tasked its chief financial officer, Oliver Chow, with executive oversight of the SciPlay division. During this transition period, Chow will work alongside SciPlay’s team of industry experts to continue the day-to-day business until a new SciPlay CEO is appointed. Chow will step into this temporary role on November 1, 2026. He will also continue in his role as CFO of the broader Light & Wonder business. For reference, SciPlay remains a distinct reporting segment for Light & Wonder. The company noted that the SciPlay leadership changes have not caused any change to its strategy for the business. Light & Wonder’s CEO Thanked Josh Wilson for His Contributions Company officials commented on the leadership changes. Matt Wilson, Light & Wonder’s chief executive officer and president, thanked Josh Wilson for his substantial contribution to SciPlay over his 20+ years of service. The CEO noted that Josh Wilson was instrumental to a variety of major achievements, including the company’s initial public offering and the creation of a strong portfolio of social casino content. On behalf of the Board and the leadership team, I thank him [Josh Wilson] for that contribution and wish him well. We are taking the time to appoint the right leader for SciPlay’s next phase. In the meantime, Oliver will work closely with the talented and experienced SciPlay leadership team, whose deep knowledge of the business, brands and players will provide important continuity as we move through this transition.
