Galaxy Ent holds a summer family programme for Macau staff

Macau casino operator Galaxy Entertainment Group Ltd (GEG) says about 300 of its employees and their children took part in a summer programme aimed at promoting family wellbeing and work-life balance. The “GEG Family Cares Summer Programme” was held during the summer holidays and staged at the group’s Galaxy Macau casino resort. It included a range of parent-child activities, according to a recent press release. One of the activities, called “Become a Movie Theatre Star for a Day”, gave children an opportunity to experience the work of staff at Galaxy Cinemas. Participants took part in ticketing, food and drink service, and ushering duties, before watching a film with their families. The programme also included a chocolate-making workshop at Hotel Okura Macau, led by pastry chefs from Galaxy Macau’s central kitchen. Another activity, “Play, Explore & Bond Together”, involved a visit to the Galaxy Kidz Edutainment Center, as well as arts-and-crafts workshops. Participants created Macau-inspired Portuguese-style tile coasters and hand-painted bags, said the announcement. Galaxy Entertainment stated that the programme was part of its efforts to support the “physical and mental wellbeing” of its employees and strengthen family bonds. The casino firm also said it runs other family-focused initiatives, including the “Nurturing Future Together” programme, organised with Macau’s Education and Youth Development Bureau, and featuring seminars for staff about parental skills. Galaxy Entertainment additionally operates a parent-child volunteering scheme and partners with the Sheng Kung Hui Macau Social Services Coordination Office, on an employee-assistance programme, which includes family and parental activities designed to promote work-life balance.
