Euro Games Technology gets gaming vendor licence in UAE

Euro Games Technology (EGT), a Bulgaria-based supplier of slot machines and electronic table games, has been granted a gaming-related vendor licence in the United Arab Emirates (UAE), the firm said in a Wednesday press release. The company has a presence in a number of Asia-Pacific markets, including the Philippines. EGT stated that the licensing from the UAE’s General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority (GCGRA) authorised the company to supply its portfolio of land-based gaming products to licensed operators in the country. The awarding of the licence marked “another important milestone in EGT’s global expansion strategy” and strengthened the company’s presence across regulated gaming markets, EGT said. The firm noted in its update that it has products installed in more than 100 countries worldwide. In May, the brand returned to Global Gaming Expo (G2E) Asia, a casino industry trade show and conference in Macau. The company stated: “As the UAE establishes its commercial gaming framework, the region is attracting growing interest from leading international suppliers and operators, setting high standards for compliance, integrity and responsible industry development.” Nadia Popova, chief revenue officer and vice president of sales and marketing at EGT, was quoted as saying: “The UAE represents one of the most closely-watched emerging gaming jurisdictions worldwide.” Receiving the licence “enables us to participate in a market with significant long-term potential, where we believe our technology, manufacturing expertise and customer-focused approach can deliver real value to future licensed operator partners,” she added. So far, one land-based casino resort has been licensed in the UAE: the Wynn Al Marjan Island in Ras Al Khaimah, one the members of the UAE federation. The property is now due to open in September 2027, said Wynn Resorts Ltd during its second-quarter earnings call in early August. Wynn Resorts, the parent of Macau gaming concessionaire Wynn Macau Ltd, is developing the UAE scheme with local partners. The scheme’s total budget has increased to approximately US$5.7 billion, the company said during its second-quarter earnings call.
