Estonian operator Coolbet has launched a collective redundancy process at its Tallinn headquarters with putting 131 positions at risk. The proposed cuts could affect VG Estonia OÜ, a Coolbet group company and have been reported to Estonia’s Unemployment Insurance Fund (Töötukassa). Coolbet CEO Tomas Graham mentioned that the consultation process is expected to continue throughout November. No final dates have been confirmed yet. Coolbet said: We recognise that the proposed changes will impact our employees, and we are committed to managing the entire process responsibly and with respect for everyone affected. VG Estonia has more than 360 employees. This means that the proposed redundancies could potentially affect on more one third of its workforce. Coolbet has approximately 1,000 employees worldwide. The most affected roles would be in development, IT and B2B activities. Certain support functions such as customer care may also be affected. The B2B segment of the firm has struggled in the last 12-18 months, especially in the US market. Meanwhile, the B2C operations have been reported as doing better, with great results from some of the main markets. Coolbet has been part of Sega Sammy since its parent company, GAN, was acquired in 2025. When asked if the restructurings are related to the change in ownership, Graham said that the strategic direction of Coolbet is following the long-term aims of the larger group. Graham added: The restructuring reflects the need to adapt our operations to current business realities and changing market conditions. Coolbet’s announcement comes amid the job cuts across the industry. Recently Flutter put up to 1,400 jobs at risk across its UK and Ireland division because of tax hikes. Brazil’s betting ban caused several job losses across the sector. Graham added: Our headquarters remains in Tallinn and Estonia continues to be a key market for us both as a company and a B2C gaming market for Coolbet as a brand
