The AGEM Index, which tracks the stock performance of selected global gaming equipment suppliers, rose 2.9 percent month-on-month in August. The index increased by 54.48 points to 1,929.25 during the month, according to figures released by the Association of Gaming Equipment Manufacturers (AGEM). Despite the monthly gain, the index remained below year-earlier levels, declining 2.7 percent, or 54.48 points, from August 2025. Four of the AGEM Index’s nine constituent companies recorded share price gains last month, resulting in four positive and five negative contributions to the benchmark. The largest positive contributor to the index was Nasdaq-listed Light & Wonder Inc. Its 15.5-percent increase in stock price last month led to a 40.57-point gain to the index. Japan-listed Konami Group Corp was the second-largest contributor to the monthly advance. The company’s shares rose 7.1 percent during August, adding 33.85 points to the AGEM Index. The largest drag on the index came from Australia-listed gaming supplier Aristocrat Leisure Ltd. Its shares declined 4.9 percent in August, resulting in a 24.61-point loss to the AGEM Index. In August, all three of the major U.S. stock indices increased from the prior month. The Nasdaq rose by 3.9 percent over the month, the S&P 500 experienced a 2.6-percent gain, while the Dow Jones Industrial Average improved by 1.3 percent relative to July. AGEM produces the monthly AGEM Index in association with Nevada-based advisory service firm Applied Analysis. The association represents manufacturers of electronic gaming devices, systems, lottery products, and components for the gaming industry. The trade body began compiling data for the index in January 2005 using a base of 100 points. The stocks that constitute the AGEM Index are weighted by approximate market capitalisation.
