Las Vegas police have released images of two men suspected of robbing poker pro Jared Griener of $57,500 after allegedly ambushing him at his rental home during the World Series of Poker. The images come more than two months after Griener said he was bound with duct tape and robbed at the Las Vegas property on July 12, shortly after collecting his winnings from the WSOP. The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department is asking for the public’s help identifying the two men, who were captured on surveillance footage around the time of the robbery. One suspect is described as a heavyset Black man with braids and distinctive tattoos on his left forearm. Mystery Over Entry The homeowner, Malee Simpson, has meanwhile raised fresh questions about how the suspects gained access to the property. Griener previously said the men appeared to know the rental’s door code as well as his movements. He said surveillance footage showed them arriving roughly 10 minutes before he returned. Simpson told News 3 that her security cameras captured the suspects leaving but did not show how they entered. She said they could potentially have accessed the property through the backyard, side yard, or garage rather than the coded front door. However, Simpson’s subsequent review of surveillance footage established that the door code was not known exclusively to Griener and the two roommates with whom he shared the property. Around 10 people came and went during the six-week rental, Simpson said, and footage showed people other than the three registered guests using the code to enter.
