Pagcor to distribute 3,500 donated wheelchairs across Philippines

The Philippine Amusement and Gaming Corp (Pagcor) is to distribute 3,500 donated wheelchairs to beneficiaries across the country, as part of the gaming regulator’s corporate social responsibility (CSR) efforts. The wheelchairs were donated by the SiGMA Foundation and formally handed over on September 16, according to a recent announcement. The ceremony was attended by Pagcor chairman and chief executive, Alejandro Tengco (pictured, centre), and SiGMA Asia managing director Neil Shih (pictured, right). Mr Tengco said the donation would help broaden Pagcor’s CSR initiatives and enable the agency to reach more beneficiaries nationwide. “These wheelchairs are now ready for distribution to beneficiaries in cities, municipalities, and provinces across the country,” said the Pagcor chief. Mr Tengco also expressed hope that the donation would lead to further collaboration between Pagcor and the SiGMA Foundation. Mr Shih said the initiative reflected a shared commitment to supporting people and communities in need across the Philippines. “We hope that these 3,500 wheelchairs will make a difference in the lives of thousands of Filipinos and their families,” Mr Shih stated. The wheelchairs are to be distributed to eligible beneficiaries nationwide through Pagcor’s CSR programmes, in partnership with local government units and other stakeholders. The SiGMA Foundation is the charitable arm of SiGMA Group, an events and media organisation with activities covering the gaming sector.
