A woman, identified as Susana Lausana of Lynn, became one of Massachusetts’ latest lottery winners. The Bay State Lottery announced in an official statement that the woman bought and won a $2,000,000 payout from a scratch-off ticket, including the customary image of the oversized check and the winner. Lausana had bought her ticket at a convenience store at D&M Variety, located at 99 Commercial St in Lynn, playing the $2,000,000 50X Cashword instant ticket game, and immediately realized that she had won the grand prize. Opting for the lump sum, Lausana is taking home $1.3 million before taxes are applied. Most lottery winners choose the lump sum over the annuity payments, with the logic that the lump sum alone can be invested immediately and thus pay out greater dividends than annualized payments could ever provide. Lausana did not offer much insight into what she would do next, but argued that she would put some of her winnings toward her home and has already planned a holiday trip to Florida. Following her win, there is only a single grand prize left in the $2,000,000 50X Cashword game. This is not the only recent good lottery story to come out of the Bay State in recent days. Previously, a man in Massachusetts won a $416,405 prize off a $2 bet on an eInstant game – Timber Wolf. The man was a little more specific with what he would be doing with the prize, vowing to buy presents for his family, help his daughter with her wedding, and yes, put some away.
