Galaxy Resort – the flagship Cotai casino resort run by Galaxy Entertainment Group Ltd – announced on Wednesday a “three-year strategic partnership” with entertainment company Damai Entertainment and online booking platform Fliggy. Both Damai Entertainment and Fliggy are linked to Alibaba Group, one of China’s largest technology and e-commerce conglomerates. The agreement aims to attract more large-scale entertainment events to Galaxy Resort, increase ticket sales and promote packages that combine event tickets with hospitality services. The details were set out in a Chinese-language announcement released after a signing ceremony for the partnership agreement (pictured), attended by senior executives from all three parties. Under the partnership, Galaxy Resort, Damai Entertainment and Fliggy will work together to attract more “international concerts”, “sports events” and “large-scale cultural events” to Macau. The events would be staged at the Galaxy International Convention Center and Galaxy Arena, as well as at other facilities within the integrated resort. Galaxy Entertainment operates various performance venues at its Cotai properties. These include the 16,000-seat Galaxy Arena and the 850-seat G Box, both within Galaxy Resort, as well as the 2,500-seat Broadway Theatre at neighbouring Broadway Macau. Under the three-year partnership, the three parties will also work together to develop bundled hospitality packages featuring event tickets, luxury hotel accommodation, dining and other tourism experiences. They will also explore shared membership benefits for their customers. The latest strategic partnership builds on “years of fruitful cooperation” among the three parties, the casino resort promoter said in the release. This included the introduction of Damai Entertainment’s “first international version” of its “Maiseat” ticketing system at Galaxy Arena in 2024. Damai Entertainment provides live-event services, including event ticketing, content investment and production, event promotion and distribution, and on-site services. It has partnered with Galaxy Entertainment since 2023 to bring cultural and entertainment-related events to Macau.
