Florida Man Sues Wynn Las Vegas for Contracting Legionnaires’ Disease Earlier This Year

A Florida man is suing Wynn Las Vegas, claiming he contracted Legionnaires’ disease during a stay at the Strip resort earlier this year. Legionnaires’ disease is a severe form of pneumonia caused by inhaling water droplets contaminated with Legionella bacteria.In April 2026, the Southern Nevada Health District (SNHD) announced the investigation of two travel‑associated Legionnaires’ cases linked to stays at Wynn — one in September 2025 and another in February 2026. Both individuals recovered, according to the agency.Feliciano’s case may or may not be separate from the one reported in February. According to his filing, Feliciano began feeling sick while visiting Wynn in January 2026. After returning home, his condition worsened, requiring hospitalization from Jan. 22-25. The lawsuit says Feliciano later received a notification indicating he may have been exposed to Legionella during his stay — a letter he claims confirmed what he had already suspected. Feliciano alleges he suffered “serious and permanent injuries” that continue to limit his ability to work and participate in recreational activities. His complaint argues that the Wynn failed to properly maintain its water systems, did not adequately warn guests of potential exposure, and ultimately allowed conditions that caused his illness. As a matter of policy, Wynn Resorts declines to discuss pending litigation. Health District Investigation Environmental testing conducted by SNHD found Legionella in multiple samples taken from the resort. Wynn subsequently carried out water‑system remediation, notified guests of possible exposure, and began ongoing follow‑up testing. Health officials said the most recent samples showed no detectable bacteria in the affected areas and noted that Wynn was cooperating with the investigation.
