On 30 September, during Balkan Gaming Federation Summit, Dragan Skrbic was appointed as the first president of the federation. Filip Jelavić and Sorin Georgescu will serve as the federation’s vice presidents. The new leaders will also be responsible for the first campaigns organized by BGF for the defense of the legal gambling industry in the Balkans, including the cooperation with EUROMAT, which attended a relevant event in Romania. Since March when the federation was founded in Serbia, it has been working on establishing cooperation with EUROMAT in the future and stated in its press release that the aim of this is to become a regional representative within this EU trade organization. Seven business organizations in seven Balkan countries- Serbia, Region Bulgaria, Croatia, Romania, Montenegro, Bosnia and Herzegovina, and North Macedonia are uniting their forces in the Balkan Gaming Federation. The legal gambling sector is under increasing pressure in this region, which is why BGF offers a platform for joint action for the operators and the suppliers of the region. The new leadership of BGF will announce its impending plans for the year 2027 at the New Horizons Gaming Industry Gala Dinner taking place in Sofia on the 24th of November. The event will be the first time the new team of leaders is showcased to the federation’s member associations. BGF plans to hold an more inclusive B2B conference in the Balkans, which will include an exhibition and thus strengthen ties between its representatives. Events are expected to take place in Bulgaria, Romania, and Serbia in turns.
