Gavin Isaacs, a 25-year veteran of C-level leadership roles in the gaming industry, has joined the board of technology testing and cybersecurity consultancy Gaming Laboratories International (GLI) as an adviser. The news was given in a Monday statement from GLI. His official appointment is subject to regulatory review and approval. Mr Isaacs (pictured in a file photo) will serve alongside GLI president and chief executive James Maida, as well as GLI board members Alexander Heerkens Thijssen, Matt Turner, and Zach Kelly. The latter trio represent private equity firm CVC Capital Partners Plc, which in June invested in GLI and related entities via its CVC Strategic Opportunities arm. Mr Maida was cited in Monday’s statement as saying: “I am thrilled that Gavin is joining the GLI board. The board and I as CEO have ambitious plans that will further propel GLI globally over the next several years, and Gavin’s decades of experience, vision, and history of innovation make him a perfect partner as we move forward.” Mr Isaacs was quoted as stating: “I am excited to join the board of GLI as it embarks on its next stage of growth. “I look forward to working with James Maida and CVC as we build upon the incredible business built by James and his team over the past 37 years.” Mr Isaacs’ quarter-century leadership know-how covers CEO and board roles in private and public companies, encompassing casino-gaming technology, iGaming, sports betting, and lottery business. He was chief executive and vice chairman of the legacy-entity version of casino equipment supplier Scientific Games Corp. Other management roles previously held by Mr Isaacs include at DraftKings Inc; at the legacy casino equipment maker Bally Technologies Inc; and at Aristocrat Technologies Inc, the United States arm of Australian slot machine maker Aristocrat Leisure Ltd. Per the update from GLI, Mr Isaacs has overseen strategic mergers and acquisitions across the sector totalling over US$10 billion in value, “delivering consistent shareholder value through both organic expansion and successful turnarounds”.
