Sweden’s AB Trav och Galopp (ATG) has published its financial report for the first half of 2026, reporting stable revenues despite the weaker performance in the second quarter of the year. While the company experienced slight declines, its operating profit for the six-month period increased. The Company’s Revenue Was Dragged Down by Weaker Q2 In its official report, ATG highlighted H1 revenue of SEK 2.9 billion ($0.31 billion), down 1% year on year. The company’s net gaming revenue for the period decreased by 2% to SEK 2.5 billion ($0.26 billion), which the company attributed to weaker performance in Q2. Despite the slight setbacks, the company’s operating profit soared, reaching SEK 687 million ($72.7 million) for the period, marking an increase of 2.3% year-on-year. ATG published further details about its performance, noting that its horseracing segment experienced a 4% decrease in revenue. Sports betting net gaming revenue, on the other hand,m was down 7%. The decreases were somewhat offset by a 15% increase in casino net gaming revenue. In Denmark, ATG’s business experienced a revenue increase of 19%. During the first half of 2026, ATG reported roughly 1.4 million active customers, consistent with the activity in H1 2025. Of those, 94% are healthy players who do not struggle with their gambling and are not at risk of developing gambling problems. In H1 2026, ATG paid SEK 607 million ($64.3 million) in taxes. The company’s operating costs excluding gambling taxes decreased to SEK 1.6 billion ($0.17 billion), down 1.7% year-on-year. The decrease was driven by overall efficiency improvements. The Company Was Not Fully Pleased with the Performance Lotta Nilsson, ATG’s chief financial officer, commented n the results, saying that the company had a weaker second quarter but could nevertheless record some improvements. Nilson confirmed that the company was not entirely satisfied with the revenue development, but noted that the higher profits and lower costs are a testament to the company’s efficiency. Nilsson added that ATG is very pleased with the fact that most of its revenue came from players who are not harmed or at risk of harm.
