Electronic casino table game specialist Spintec d.o.o. says it has obtained two new gaming-related vendor licences in respectively the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Ontario, Canada, following “long and rigorous” application procedures. The UAE, a federal state, is to open its first integrated resort (IR) with casino at Ras Al Khaimah, within 2027. The US$5.7-billion Wynn Al Marjan project, with Wynn Resorts Ltd as a 40-percent equity contributor and manager of the resort, is earmarked to open in September 2027. Wynn Resorts is the parent of Macau casino operator Wynn Macau Ltd. Per a Spintec press release issued on Tuesday, the UAE’s General Commercial Gaming Regulatory Authority (GCGRA) has awarded Spintec a federal gaming-related vendor licence in that Middle East nation. The announcement said the licence “grants Spintec the right to establish vendor relations with commercial gaming operators licensed by the GCGRA in the country”. Goran Sovilj, Spintec’s chief commercial officer, was cited as saying: “The UAE licence opens up new opportunities for us in the Middle East, where we are among the first licensed vendors to enter the market.” He added, referring also to the firm being granted a gaming-related supplier licence with the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario: “Both markets are incredibly important footholds for us.” Mr Sovilj noted regarding Ontario: “We cooperated with our partner Bet Rite in the licensing process in Ontario.” Bet Rite is a gaming equipment distributor. The release did not clarify when Spintec received the two new licences.
