Police Release Footage of Suspects Behind Poker Pro Jared Griener’s Robbery

Earlier this year, GamblingNews reported that a professional poker player had been robbed shortly after returning to the place he was renting for the World Series of Poker event. The two men were reportedly aware of who he was and duct-taped him before running away with his winnings. Now, the Las Vegas police have released images of the suspects as the search for the wrongdoers continues. The Poker Pro Was Robbed Shortly After Cashing His Winnings The victim of this robbery was poker pro Jared Griener. As he returned to his rental home during the WSOP event, he was surprised by two men who had been waiting for him. The intruders proceeded to pin Griener, threatening to kill him if he moved. After that, he was duct-taped and had plates placed on his back so that the robbers would hear if he moved. In the meantime, the criminals searched the apartment before taking off with Griener’s $57,500 in winnings. For reference, Griener had cashed several events, including the $10,000 WSOP Main Event, which netted him $32,500. Once the two robbers left, Griener managed to free himself. He quickly shared the story across social media, saying that he believed the two men had been well aware of who he was. He theorized that they had planned this strike carefully and hurried to his Airbnb after the WSOP game day with the intention of intercepting and robbing him. The robbers allegedly knew the door code, which allowed them to enter the rental and ambush Griener inside. According to the property’s owner, around 10 people came and went during the six-week rental. This included people other than the three registered guests, which suggests that the code could have been leaked. The Police Ask the Public to Help in Identifying the Criminals Griener later learned that a neighbor’s surveillance camera had captured the two robbers arriving shortly before he did. Now, the Las Vegas police have released images of the criminals, asking the public’s help in identifying the criminals. As Griener mentioned previously, the two robbers appear to be black men. One of them appears to be taller, with braids and distinctive tattoos on his left forearm. He was wearing a black T-shirt, black shorts, and white shoes. The second suspect is a shorter man who appears to be wearing a gray hoodie, red shorts, and black shoes. The footage also shows that the suspects arrived in a dark gray SUV that they parked around the corner from the location Griener was renting. The footage shows them walking toward the property and returning roughly 20 minutes later. As of the time of this writing, no arrests have been made. The police urged anyone with information about the two robbers to come forward.
