A woman from Michigan has been charged with three counts of lottery fraud after attempting to scan stolen scratch-off tickets. The woman, who has since been arrested and identified as Keaysha Warren, 23, has been charged with lottery fraud. Michigan Woman Held in South Carolina – Charged with Lottery Fraud The tickets were stolen from stores in Columbia and Orangeburg by Warren and associates. The same day, June 22, Warren attempted to scan the tickets at three locations: the Pilot Travel Center at 1300 Burke Road in St. Matthews, Calhoun County the Spinx gas station/convenience store at 7232 Garners Ferry Road in Columbia and, about two miles away, the Food Lion grocery store at 7830 Garners Ferry Road in Richland County, arrest warrants show. Police were able to catch the theft on camera, as they did the attempted recovery of the tickets through scanning. Warren and her associates, Darious Welch and Jalen Coleman, have been involved in similar lottery offenses as per an investigation that began in 2025 in North Carolina. The trio is involved in an extensive lottery and prepaid card fraud scheme that has been operating in the territory of at least several states. On Monday, August 31, Warren was booked into the Orangeburg-Calhoun Regional Detention Center. Warren was later that day transferred to the Alvin S. Glenn Detention Center in Richland County. She has been charged with three counts in total. A bond has been set at $50,000.
