While Monday’s Powerball drawing once again ended without a jackpot winner, several big wins made the drawing exciting nonetheless. These included a player in Michigan, who became the state’s latest millionaire after securing a seven-figure payout, as well as two six-figure sums. Michigan Ticket-Holder Won $1M The Monday Powerball drawing saw one player narrowly miss the jackpot after matching all five numbers but not the Powerball. While the jackpot remained out of reach, the lucky ticket-holder, identified as a player in Michigan, managed to snatch a $1 million Match 5 payout. If the player had matched the Powerball as well, they would have been in for an unforgettable $611 million payday, or $257.2 million if they went with the one-time lump sum. For reference, the winning numbers drawn on October 19 were 8, 31, 32, 42, and 48, plus the red Powerball 23. The Power Play multiplier, on the other hand, was 4x. The Power Play multiplier resulted in a few generous payouts, as two players who matched four white numbers and the Powerball while having the feature active won $200,000 each. At the same time, eight players who also matched four white numbers and the Powerball took home $50,000 each, since they did not have Power Play active. Since the Powerball jackpot was not won, fans can expect it to get even higher for the Wednesday drawing. The current estimates put the Wednesday top prize at $635 million with a cash value of $267.5 million. Match 5 Prizes Created Even More Millionaires The past few weeks have seen quite a few Match 5 prizes happen. The most recent one happened this Saturday when a player in Maryland won a $1 million payout after matching all white numbers for that drawing. Before that, a player in Minnesota not only matched all five white numbers, but also had the Power Play feature active, which netted them a Match 5 + Power Play prize of $2 million. Earlier still, a Briton won a $1 million sum, becoming the latest UK-based recipient of a Match 5 prize. Powerball launched in the UK earlier this year, as part of Allwyn’s modernization of The National Lottery. This provided local players with the chance to play for an uncapped jackpot and win truly life-changing prizes.
