Marina Bay Sands hosts youth dialogue with pro golfer Lily Muni He

Singapore casino resort Marina Bay Sands hosted professional golfer Lily Muni He for what the property termed a youth engagement session, focused on “resilience, self-belief” and personal development. The event brought together aspiring golfers from the Singapore Golf Association and LLD Sports, as well as young people from the network of social mobility charity Access Singapore, according to a recent press release. Ms He, a Sands Champion Ambassador, discussed her progression from amateur golf to becoming an LPGA professional, as well as the setbacks and pressures associated with competing at an elite level. “As athletes, we spend a lot of time focusing on results, but success is rarely a straight path. There will be setbacks, challenges and moments of doubt,” she said. “What matters is learning from them, staying true to who you are, and continuing to move forward even when things don’t go as planned,” she added. The session was held at Sands Theatre as part of Marina Bay Sands’ “In Conversation With” series. Launched in 2014, the initiative has staged nearly 50 sessions involving figures from sport, entertainment, business and the arts. It was the first time young people from Access Singapore had participated in one of the dialogues. The charity supports young people from disadvantaged backgrounds through mentorship, career exposure and development opportunities. Ms He has been a Sands Champion Ambassador since September 2024. Under the programme, she works with Marina Bay Sands’ parent company, U.S.-based Las Vegas Sands Corp, on initiatives including promoting women’s golf and engaging young people in the community. “In Conversation With” forms part of Sands Cares, a community engagement programme by Marina Bay Sands. Its other areas of focus include efforts regarding community resilience, developing future hospitality talent, promoting cultural and natural heritage, and supporting communities during crises.
