Electronic table games (ETG) specialist Interblock Gaming has appointed Cathryn Lai as its new chief product officer, with responsibility for the group’s global product strategy and online business. Ms Lai (pictured) will lead the development of Interblock’s global product strategy, using “player and operator insights to drive innovation and growth” across the company’s portfolio, according to an announcement from the supplier in a social media post. She will also oversee Interblock’s online business, as the company looks to bring its gaming products into the digital segment and develop what it described as a “seamless omnichannel experience” for players. Ms Lai is said to have more than 15 years of experience in the gaming industry, with previous leadership roles spanning product management, commercial operations and marketing. Her industry career has included senior positions at the legacy gaming technology business Scientific Games – now Light & Wonder Inc – and at sports betting technology provider OpenBet. She was most recently chief operating officer of Sands Digital Services, the online gaming arm established by casino group Las Vegas Sands Corp. Las Vegas Sands decided in late 2025 to discontinue Sands Digital Services, after concluding that further investment in the online-gaming business was no longer aligned with the group’s long-term strategy. Interblock said Ms Lai’s experience in both land-based and digital gaming would support the company’s expansion and product development. The appointment comes amid a series of changes to Interblock’s senior management. In July, the company named Kay Oswald as chief executive, succeeding John Connelly. Earlier this month, Interblock appointed Marco Balliano as chief operating officer and president for Europe, the Middle East and Africa. Interblock specialises in ETG products and it said recently that it was introducing later this month its new Omnichannel platform for digital gaming, designed to extend the company’s casino games beyond the traditional gaming floor.
