Google will no longer allow ads for online gambling for users in Croatia starting on October 7, 2026. This policy change will affect different media platforms and affiliates that use Google for gambling ads. Besides this, Google will also cancel the existing registrations of online gambling advertisers. With Croatia-specific terms, from October 7 on Google Ads, ads for gambling-related services will no longer be allowed. Google Ads, Google’s advertising platform, stated: Under the updated policy, all promotion of content related to online gambling and targeting Croatia will be prohibited effective October 7, 2026. All existing certifications for advertisers of content promoting online gambling will be revoked, and applications for these certifications will no longer be accepted. This policy change will mainly influence affiliate websites and other media that fund its advertising. The reason for this move is connected with the new restrictions on gambling ads in Croatia from January 1, 2026, introduced by amendments to Croatian Gambling legislation. Google stated that the change is enforced independently from the existence of the restrictions in the ad market of Croatia.
