GLI, Gaming Laboratories International, has been officially registered by the National Agency for Prospective Projects of Uzbekistan. From now on, it will be the accepted testing and certification laboratory for gaming products in Uzbekistan. This is an important point for operators and providers. t will allow the use of GLI certification reports for the country’s regulated gambling market. The recognition creates an official pathway for company reports to be used under the country’s new regulatory framework. GLI said 4 licenses had already been issued across 2 operators in Uzbekistan. Company recognition occurs when the market moves from creating its framework to active operation. According to GLI, elements of Uzbekistan’s technical framework are still in the process of the establishment. Lucas Zavarise, GLI’s government and regulatory affairs manager for Europe, the Middle East, India and Africa, said Uzbekistan is on its way to becoming an important regulated market in Central Asia. GLI representatives met with NAPP officials in early August. The discussions focused on Uzbekistan’s new regulatory framework and how GLI can support market development.
