Gaming Innovation Group (GiG) chief financial officer Phil Richards has left the company after two-and-a-half years in the role. On 2 November, he posted on LinkedIn announcing his departure and confirming that he left GiG in October. He wrote in a LinkedIn post: After two and a half years as CFO of Gaming Innovation Group, sadly October was my last month with the business. It has been a period of real change for GiG and one of which I’m immensely proud of: Starting with the IPO, alongside our significantly sharpening both the focus and quality of our platform offering whilst strengthening financial reporting and investor engagement, culminating with completing the acquisition of a majority stake in 888Africa. Richards officially began working as the CFO for GiG in July 2024. The position was Richards’s second in the gambling industry, as previously he had worked for nearly six years in Kambi, his prior roles including group financial controller, and vice president of finance. While at GiG, he saw the company through major milestones including its IPO and buying a majority stake in 888Africa. Prior to joining the online gambling business, Richards worked for Corero Network Security, Shell and KPMG. Richards will join design and visualisation technology company Chaos as CFO in December. He also wrote: In other news, I’m delighted to share that on 1 December I’ll be joining Chaos as Chief Financial Officer. Chaos is at a very exciting stage of its growth, and I’m really looking forward to working with Iveta Cabajova and the leadership team alongside our investors to help build on that momentum.
