The Orleans Hotel & Casino in Las Vegas has become involved in a serious case involving allegations of sexual assault against a minor. Boyd Gaming, which owns the venue, is also a defendant, as the victim’s attorneys alleged that hotel staff failed to evaluate the situation and intervene in time. If proven guilty, the property could face substantial fines. Hotel Staff Allegedly Failed to Intervene Cuban rapper Yosvanis Sierra Hernandez, better known under his alias Chocolate MC, stands accused of attempted sexual assault against a teenager in an Orleans hotel room after allowing his victim to consume alcohol and drugs in a Vegas nightclub. The incident occurred during a 2024 New Year’s Eve party at the Masque Nightclub. Hernandez’s charges include sexual battery and intentional infliction of emotional distress. Meanwhile, Masque Nightclub is accused of serving alcohol to an underage individual and of repeated cases of negligence. The plaintiff’s lawyers also allege that Orleans Hotel & Casino staff failed to protect the teenager and were not properly trained to identify dangerous situations. According to the lawsuit, Orleans staff should have noticed that Hernandez was entering the venue with a noticeably impaired minor, as no staff members prevented the rapper from taking the victim to his room. The plaintiff now seeks over $15,000 in damages. This figure does not include additional relief, counseling costs, and legal fees. Hernandez Is No Stranger to Legal Drama Curiously, police reports show that Hernandez has not been criminally charged in relation to the incident. In 2025, the rapper was instead found guilty of a murder-for-hire plot to assassinate the man charged with killing singer El Taiger. Hernandez allegedly attempted to hire prison inmates, offering them $20,000 to carry out the ghastly deed. Hernandez was also involved in a kidnapping case. Police records show that he reportedly threatened a fan with a toy gun and forced him to drive around town for two hours. Fortunately, the victim was left unharmed and later contacted authorities, leading to Hernandez’ arrest. The rapper was ultimately sentenced to 10 years in prison and five years of probation for his crimes. If proven in court, the allegations could significantly damage the reputations of Orleans Hotel & Casino and the Masque Nightclub. Precedent for such rulings already exists. In April 2025, a California woman successfully sued the Cosmopolitan for negligence that led to an injury and was awarded $15 million. She argued that spilled water had created unsafe conditions at the property.
